Abstract :
To implement a preventive measure for protecting people who require assistive walking devices, this study designed an intelligent walking cane that monitors the user´s vital signs and provides information to assist them with managing their health. In the event of an accident, the cane triggers an emergency event that alerts bystanders and transmits current location data to emergency personnel through a multimedia messaging service. The most salient feature of the proposed design is that it protects the health of people who require a walking aid according to the philosophy of preventative medicine.
