Abstract :
A 10 bit chipless RFID tag Stepped Impedance Resonator (SIR) is designed and fabricated to work effectively by separating its harmonic modes outside the UWB (3.1-10.6GHz) spectrum. Spectral extraction from backscattered time domain signal is carried out to identify the RFID tag. Averaging method in the time domain signal is proposed in this paper, which enables the identification of tag from highly noisy signal. The technique can be easily employed for the identification of items moving thorough conveyer belt. Agilent PNA E8362B network analyzer is used as UWB reader and measurements are carried outside the anechoic chamber environment.
