Abstract
A recently developed phase retrieval algorithm of sparse signals [2] is used to estimate the impulse response of a radar target using only the magnitude of the backscatter. Estimating the impulse response from only the magnitude of the frequency-domain radar backscatter is first verified for synthetic targets then applied to real radar targets using real returns of commercial aircraft models recorded in a compact range.
