Abstract
Two frequency selective surface (FSS) structures for ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) applications are presented. The first structure is square patch FSS which exhibits total reflection for the entire UHF RFID global band 840-960 MHz, while the second structure is square slot FSS which exhibits total transmission for UHF RFID band. An overview of the FSS structure design along with the simulation results are presented. The structure can be used in different electromagnetic interference / compatibility (EMI / EMC) application for UHF RFID technology.
