Abstract :
Analytical models are presented for metasurfaces exhibiting tensor sheet impedances. The metasurfaces consist of a patterned metallic cladding. To analyze them, a method of Moments formulation is initially developed. From it, simple expressions for the sheet impedance of various metasurface unit cells are found for arbitrarily incident plane waves in the long wavelength regime. The analytic results are verified through full-wave simulation. The work will find application in the design of metasurfaces, as well as frequency selective surfaces, high impedance surfaces and leaky-wave antennas.
