Abstract
In this paper, design of a directional blade antenna with tilted beam operating at C band is presented. Blade antennas are preferred for both airborne and ground based communication systems because of their compact size, light weight and low air friction capabilities. Especially for ground based defense systems, tilted beam directional blade antenna may be a useful solution due to the slope of the platform where antenna is placed. The antenna configuration is modeled and optimized using CST Microwave Studio Suite, EM simulation software. Antenna beam is tilted by 15 degrees utilizing placement of a parasitic element ahead of the antenna.
