Abstract
A switched beam antenna (SBA) configuration based on tapered multilayer Fabry-Perot Leaky Wave Antenna (FPLWA) is presented. A Sector Unit Cell is defined by a resonant cavity which is excited by a probe fed antenna covered by three Partially Reflective Surfaces (PRS) with a low permittivity. A radiation pattern with -20dB Side Lobe Level (SLL) in Azimuth plane and 9 dB Gain is obtained. The proposed configuration divides the 360° coverage on six beams and can be used in WLAN base station for the next generation wireless communication at 5.8 GHz frequency.
