Abstract :
A novel compact printed antenna using asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS) feed is proposed for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. With the ACS-fed structure and the opening in the radiating patch, the antenna is miniaturized to a size as small as 15 × 19 mm2. The antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 3.1 to 11.35 GHz and stable H-plane omnidirectional radiation patterns. The simple uniplanar structure makes the proposed antenna easy for implementation. Details of the antenna design and simulation results are presented and discussed.
