Abstract
The sharp ends of the sinuous antenna arms are removed and the effects are investigated in terms of radiation patterns and gain variation. The antennas are simulated and measured around the frequency of 1.7 GHz, where the sharp ends of the arms are resonant. The sharp-ends-removed sinuous antenna (SERSA) is shown to have a more consistent radiation patterns than the conventional sinuous antenna (CSA). The gain variation as a function of frequency is less with SERSA than with CSA.
