Abstract :
A novel and compact planar monopole ultra wideband (UWB) antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is presented. To achieve an UWB, four circled concave profiles are employed into a U-shaped radiation patch corners with several modifications in antenna ground plane. The antenna is also modified to create two notches for WLAN and WiMAX. The antenna bandwidth covering the range 2.85 to 50 GHz with good omnidirectional radiation pattern. The band-notched characteristics, total gain, and radiation efficiency of the antenna are studied using HFSS.
