Abstract :
This paper presents the design of a novel reconfigurable circularly-polarized split ring transmit array unit-cell operating at 20.7GHz (k-band) for satellite communication application. This unit-cell has a fairly simple structure with only three metal layers. The unit-cell exhibits 360 degrees of phase swing in circular transmission coefficient along a 180 degree physical rotation of cell with transmission coefficient magnitude of -4 dB. The circular reflection coefficient is -19dB.
