Abstract
For an arbitrary element of an infinite planar array, the received voltage and the power delivered to the load under plane-wave illumination are found in terms of transmitting performance parameters under the corresponding scan condition. In the process, the vector effective height is defined and a new directivity for quantifying the directive nature of radiation is introduced. Unlike previously reported expressions, the results are applicable to both unidrectional and bidirectional element patterns.
