Abstract :
A wideband long slot antenna array is presented in this work. In the proposed antenna, a connected long slot is used as a radiator which is periodically excited. This technique reduces the size of the array in comparison to a conventional half-wave slot antenna array. In order to achieve wide band impedance matching for all ports, feed lines of different length and widths are utilized. A prototype of 1×8 elements has been designed as proof of concept. 58% impedance bandwidth (|S11| ≤ -10 dB) is observed along with more than 10.7 dBi gain over the band of interest.
