Abstract
In this paper the capabilities of the MetaSensing L band fully polarimetric airborne SAR system are presented by showing some results of vegetation classification applied to the SAR data. Acquisitions have been performed by flying over selected areas in The Netherlands, where ground truth was collected for validation. In addition, aerial pictures have been taken for comparison. The results are promising and suggest the use of the system for classifying and monitoring the vegetation in the floodplains.
