Abstract :
Printed rectangular monopole antenna have been investigated for ultrawideband applications. This paper presents a systematic study on the basis of simulation performed in IE3D to show the effects of simple symmetrical bevelling of radiator element to enhance the impedance bandwidth. Further the proposed antenna incorporates a novel symmetrical bevelling technique of radiator element which leads to ultrawideband antenna characteristics. The designed antenna provides an impedance bandwidth of 137.87% i.e. 9.01 GHz (from 2.03 GHz to 11.04 GHz) having VSWR ≤ 2.
