Abstract
Considering mobility and portability, the equipment used in the Mobile Delay Tolerant Network (MDTN) usually use the batteries with limited capacity, which makes the equipment energy limited in MDTN. Due to the lifetime and performance of MDTN affected by equipment easily, energy efficiency optimization of the equipment becomes more and more significant. In this paper, the features shown in mobile devices communication process were applied to the device energy management mechanism. The distribution features of inter-contact time of four real dataset have been fine-grained analyzed and they show some volatility in value distribution intensive areas, as well as having certain attenuation characteristics. This paper chose the characteristic that inter-contact time of the devices obeys power-law distribution to add to the energy-saving mechanism of MDTN nodes, and design a node sleep scheduling mechanism based on power-law distribution. The simulation result of comparison with asynchronous wakeup mechanism shows that the sleep scheduling mechanism can save more energy without affecting the data delivery basically.
