Abstract :
This paper presents a direct model predictive current control of quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) compared with the traditional PI control based on PWM technique. The comparison is done in terms of the tracking ability throughout the transient and the steady-state operation, the required switching frequency, and the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD%) values. Experiment results are presented verifying the effectiveness of the model predictive control as an attractive algorithm for the qZSI.
