Construction and Research of Braille Corpus

After over 130 years of development, Chinese Braille has become a commonly used writing and learning tool for blind people in the modern society. There exists a phenomenon of general resemblance with minor differences in writing of Braille and researches on Braille are also at the initial stage. Construction of a systematic Braille corpus which can reflect complete facts and entirety of Braille based on application of computer technology plays an important role in research, standardization, teaching and informatization of Braille. Some issues including collection, tagging and construction of corpus in construction of Braille corpus are discussed in this paper.
