Abstract :
In rural areas, people have lots of problems caused by the shortage of young people and increase of elderly. Various kind of trials were achieved to cope with this problems Government prepared some amount of budget to deal with this elderly problems. However, financial solution was becoming more difficult and another effective solution was required. Utilization of human resources typically elderly in the rural areas may contribute to improve quality of life of people. Based on this idea elderly human resources centers were established in every prefectures. In addition to these governmental activities various voluntary have been actively working. Elderly economists, elderly engineers and elderly teachers were organizing groups to be active as a group. In this paper, an activity of elderly engineer´s group is introduced. A feature of this group is that members are mostly retired engineers. They had careers to develop and study machines. Their activities are focused on the development of welfare devices, and also development of young human resources in the community. Their activities are for the elderly, by the elderly, of the elderly.
