Abstract
Energy-harvesting in cognitive radio network has developed as a solution to increase energy and spectrum efficiency demand. To maximize energy efficiently, we proposed a novel method with co-existence of Primary and Secondary transmitters in which low power carriers form a secondary network, called secondary transmitters (STs). ST´s harvest energy from transmission of nearby transmitters called primary transmitters (PTs) or transmit information if PTs are sufficiently far away. In this model, each PT is centered at guard zone as well as harvesting zone and different number of Wi-Fi hotspot harvesting zones is also consider. A ST harvests energy, if it lies in harvesting zones and transmits fixed-power signal if it is outside all guard zones. Location of PTs and STs are modeled as independent homogenous Poisson point processes (HPPPs). This model is used to increase the ST transmission probability by simulation of different number of Wi-Fi hot spots.
