Abstract :
A novel integrated optimization of generation and transmission expansion planning using decomposition method is proposed to deal with both generation and transmission expansion problem. Most of existing researches on the expansion planning has applied the decomposition method based on the linearized DC power flow model to guarantee the convergence and improve the computation time. But the decomposition method based on linearized DC power flow model may result in inaccurate solutions for the power systems. In this paper, integrated optimization of generation and transmission expansion planning using decomposition method based on linearized AC power flow model is proposed. The proposed method has been successfully applied to Garver´s six-bus system which is one of the most frequently used sample systems.
