Abstract
Words to remember υ CAN bus networks have made their way into aircraft due to its properties such as robustness, reliable time behavior, and good cost/benefit ratio υ Aging effects are difficult to predict υ Provide a reasonable safety coefficient for your network robustness υ A comprehensive set of testing methods tailored to meet specific aircraft design and operational requirements are available: υ CAN stress tests of the physical layer during the design phase are necessary to verify the robustness of the network υ Synchronous CAN bus testing of the physical and logical layers help to identify and solve problems faster υ Test records of CAN bus electrical parameters are useful to anticipate possible future network failures
