Abstract :
Driving range has been a common concern for Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers, despite the fact that the average daily distance can be reached without any problem with a full charge of the vehicle´s batteries. To reduce their distance range anxiety, EV users have adapted their charging habits, trying to charge as soon as they have the opportunity and not letting the State Of Charge (SoC) of the battery go below a certain level. In our previous work, we presented an alternative charging infrastructure that provides EV charging services using the Public Lighting System (PLS) electric network that is already deployed. The feasibility of this approach has been demonstrated and its performance in terms of energy distribution improved by using different on-line scheduling strategies. However, there was a tradeoff between the Quality of Service (QoS) proposed to the users and expanding the service to more users. The purpose of this work is to present an alternative and original charging strategy that guarantees a minimum charge dispatched at the time of departure from the charging point, which allows to cover a minimum distance equivalent to a home to work travel.
