Abstract :
Functions for approximation of lightning discharge currents measured in experiments often neglect a few emphasized peaks in their waveshapes. In this paper, one suitable analytically extended multi-peaked function (MPF) is presented, for representing impulse currents, together with its advantages over commonly used functions. Double-peaked and three-peaked functions are used to approximate experimentally measured currents.
