Abstract
Implementation of CDIO approach into teaching practice requires the use of both active teaching and learning methods and adequate assessment procedures. Traditional assessment methods and tools are not enough to assess the variety of skills defined by the CDIO Syllabus. Development of the effective learning assessment system with a variety of assessment methods to verify the achievement of students´ learning outcomes is the focus of this research. The paper presents the module `Assessment of the students´ learning outcomes´ that was developed for the faculty of the Russian HEIs who are in process of modernization of programmes in accordance with the CDIO approach. The development and approbation of the module is discussed. The trainees´ feedback is analysed and the conclusions on further improvement of the module are drawn.
