Abstract :
The paper deals with the Mascil (Mathematics and Science for Life) project conducted within the 7th Framework EU Programme. First, the project is introduced with particular emphasis on project outcomes - teaching materials and methodologies for practice in Mathematics and Science teaching, and ways of their dissemination via national multipliers. Then, the inquiry based instruction is described and analysed, emphasizing the application of outcomes to the `World of Work´ (WoW). Finally, inter-relations between the Mascil project and engineering education, including the interest increase in engineering education and professions are discussed from practical and curricular view.
