Abstract :
802.11p, a standard for communication in vehicular domain, has specifics like frequency band of 5.9 GHz and mobile network nodes travelling by road with supporting infrastructure. These aspects are integral for limited simulation possibilities as well as for need for appropriate real world testbed solutions. The contribution of this paper are experiences from development of 802.11p testbed solution including PC Engines ALIX.2 based vehicle unit and road side unit prototypes and their evaluation using laboratory and field tests.
