  • Abstract
This paper presents a unified framework for considering analog and digital PID controllers by tying them to second order linear models. While no one item in this is novel, the unified treatment allows one to more rationally select PID parameters from loop shaping desires. Furthermore, the treatment leads to some simplified understanding of popular implementation choices for PID controllers.
