Abstract :
In this contribution we performed the initial experimental evaluation of an RSOA-based self-seeded transmitter operating in burst-mode at 2.5 Gb/s. We identified, during the cavity build-up, different evolution of the optical power, which reaches steady-state faster than the spectrum. The time required to the optical power to reach the steady state depends on the total cavity losses. BER curves explore both initial and full-regime roundtrips to determine the effective “turn-on” time of the transmitter.
