Abstract :
In this paper, sequential blind parameter estimation is performed at the receiver to lay down a foundation of the concept blind wireless receiver (BWR) for single carrier systems. The proposed BWR can construct soft constellation points and bits successfully without any knowledge of transmitted signal. The BWR estimates parameters such as carrier frequency, symbol rate, symbol timing offset and modulation mode. Performance of the individual parameter estimation algorithm is provided through simulation studies. Finally symbol error rate (SER) of BWR for quaternary phase shift keying (QPSK) is analyzed through various conditions and compared with the theoretical performance. It is shown that the proposed sequential estimations, i.e. BWR is realizable for future wireless communications.
