Abstract
Mobile ad hoc network is a group of mobile nodes that dynamically forms a mobile network. Route discovery and path failure are the main problems occur in MANET due to mobility. With the help of Neighbor Coverage-Based Probabilistic Rebroadcast Protocol (NCPR) protocol, the existing system deals with the problem of route discovery. The NCPR protocol exploits neighbor coverage knowledge by finding additional coverage ratio & connectivity factor. By combining these two factors, it sets a reasonable rebroadcast probability. In proposed system, NCPR is used for topology discovery & route discovery. Here Hello packet scheme is used for showing presence of neighbors to its corresponding node. In proposed system NCPR protocol minimizes routing overhead. In future, Ad hoc Multicast Routing protocol utilizing increasing id-numbers (AMRIS) protocol will be used to deal with the problem of path failure.
