Abstract
In today´s world, speech processing is one of the challenging issues. However, the acquisition process, transmission channel and external factors produces noise that results to poor quality signal. The quality of the signal has to be increased to an extreme level. To accomplish this huge number of works have been proposed in the literature by proposing denoising techniques. However, the denoising performance is not up to a remarkable level, when the signal affected by multiple noises. To solve the aforesaid problems, adaptive self-switching noise removal techniques are required. In this work the performance of the conventional adaptive filter is compared with an optimization technique. Different noises at different levels are added to a speech signal and the denoising performance is evaluated in terms of SNR.
