Abstract :
Wearable tracking systems for monitoring hand movement are very important to track the function of stroke survivors´ impaired hand during daily life activities and can be used as rehabilitation systems at home. This paper discusses the importance of home-based upper extremity rehabilitation and investigates the opportunity of using a novel hand glove device in this context. A finger movement evaluation device was developed to assist in monitoring the use of impaired hand during home-based interventions. The device was used in a home-based training intervention for two weeks. Clinical results of the intervention showed significant improvement in functional movement after training.
