Abstract :
The number of premature babies is increasing in the world. With Internet connection accessibility and the development of smart phones, m-health application is playing an essential role for monitoring biomedical data. In that context, we are proposing a distributed neonatal incubator monitoring system (NIMS) dedicated for premature babies´ dynamic control. Our system is made up of distributed software agents (within incubator´s data hubs, medical servers and mobile terminals of medical staff and parents) based on Constraint Application Protocol (CoAP). The use of CoAP based agents, as well as URIs for data IDs, enables the integration of our proposed NIMS system and its collected data into an Internet of Things (IoT) wide scenario. The proposed system was successfully carried out and tested in a hospital North Lebanon.
