Abstract :
In this paper, A compact Planar Monopole Microstrip Patch antenna is proposed. The antenna has three distinct frequency bands, centered at 2.3, 3.8 and 5.18 GHz. This antenna is designed on a 1.6mm - thick FR4 epoxy substrate with dimensions 60mm×48mm, is microstrip - line fed and has partial ground plane flushed with feed line. Sensitive study of slot geometry upon the resonant modes have been conducted along with fabrication. It is shown that the antenna can cover the bands of several applications including WLAN (5150 - 5350 MHz), WiMAX (2300 - 2400 MHz) and Fixed Satellite Services (3700 - 4200 MHz).
