Abstract :
This work concentrates on design of antennas in micrometer range that corresponds to infrared frequencies. The antenna is made to resonate around 10 micrometer range, which is the peak of IR radiations reaching the earth´s surface. Various studies of different antenna designs were carried out and Bow-Tie antenna is selected as the final design based on its geometrical features that enhance the voltage output. Bow-Tie antenna with design variation of, base length 2.1μm, arm length 3μm, gap size 1nm and substrate height 0.5μm is proposed. The mentioned basic antenna design is analyzed by incorporating various geometries of slots to study the effect on voltage output. Further the Bow-Tie antenna array is investigated over approximately the same area as in the single antenna element and its dependence on voltage output is also examined.
