Abstract :
Metasurfaces provide a conceptually new and efficient way to control electromagnetic field distributions by engineering the electromagnetic response of their unit cells having subwavelength dimensions and periodicity. In this work we propose new passive resonators based on metasurfaces with strongly miniaturized unit cells due to their capacitive loading. We study unique features of such devices and discuss their possible applications in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
