Abstract :
Twisted photonic crystal fibre (PCF) supports novel helical Bloch modes that uniquely display OAM (orbital angular momentum) birefringence, acoustic resonances trapped in micron-scale glass cores can be used to stably mode-lock soliton fibre lasers at gigahertz rates and gas-filled hollow core PCF is enabling a new generation of bright tunable deep and vacuum ultraviolet light sources.
