Abstract :
Noise is liable for generating troubles in day-to-day communication, so noise reduction is a major issue. To acquire a signal free from distortion, the key objective is to terminate the noise existent in the original signal. This noise can be cancelled using adaptive filters which are governed by adaptive algorithms. Various algorithms are proposed over the period of time. So a review needs to be done which would give a clear idea of what is lacking in the previously developed algorithms and what changes can be brought about so that more effective algorithms can be developed in future. In this review paper, prominent work done on the algorithms in relation to noise cancellation is studied and discussed in a tabular format in which the proposed model and the results are jotted in a proper manner and proper remarks are given as well as their merits and demerits are mentioned. Existing algorithms like Variable Step Size Least Mean Square algorithm, Variable Step Size Normalized Least Mean Square algorithm, Filtered-x Least Mean Square algorithm, Filtered-u Least Mean Square algorithm, Feedback Least Mean Square algorithm and Hybrid Least Mean Square algorithm are also discussed.
