Abstract :
Cloud computing is one of the transformational technology in the computing world. This paper reports the cloud computing adoption curve using number of cloud providers as an indicator. Cloud computing providers offers three basic services namely, infrastructure as a service, platform as a service and software as a service. This paper shows results of medium term forecast of cloud computing providers using exponential smoothing methods. Cloud provider´s historical data follows a trend so double exponential smoothing methods (DES) are applied. Results shows that DES with two smoothing constants is better fitted than DES with one smoothing constant with respect to mean absolute deviation and root mean square error. Result shows that growth in IaaS providers is more than SaaS and PaaS.
