Abstract :
This paper introduces additional results to those concerning the quasi-real-time estimation of rain rate through an opportunistic Ka-band satellite link, which has been recently presented. The focus of the present work is on the dependence of the proposed method from some model´s parameters such as the clouds base height and the integration time for the received signal. The upgrade of the model is presented and its employment with a new set of collected data is presented. The results are interpreted through a comparison with measurements from a small network of rain gauges.
