Abstract :
In this paper, a visibility of area damaged by landslide on deeply forested mountain in Japan to an L-band SAR image was examined. The intensive comparison by using the various ALOS-1 and 2 data explained that the visibility is highly sensitive to the observation conditions such as an azimuthal angle. In addition, it was revealed that a simple linear combination of a full polarimetric data set can significantly improve the contrast of damaged area to the coniferous woodland. This is promising for a future development of effective landslide area detection in the forested mountain.
