Abstract
ISRO has developed two radar based microwave remote sensors to meet national needs as well as contributions to international research. They are: Ku-band scatterometer Oscat on board Oceansat-2 (2009-2014) and C-band SAR on-board RISAT-1(Radar Imaging Satellite). Oscat, in its lifetime, provided valuable data of wind vector over oceans to world meteorology and oceanography community. Since 2012, RISAT-1 is regularly delivering multi-mode and multi-polarization imaging globally, for various operational applications and scientific research.
