Abstract :
In this paper, we propose, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, a novel approach to realize Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) exploiting fast optical subsystems aided by low cost slow rate electronics, to extract the desired header fields and slow down the signal rate to deliver the selected information to the electronic processing at a suitable low rate speed.
