Abstract :
In this paper, we report several fabrication methods of PMN-PT, PIN-PMN-PT/epoxy 1-3 and 2-2 composites. Four kinds of transducers including 3MHz single element transducers based by 1-3 and 2-2 composites, 2MHz focused 1-3 composite based linear array and 10MHz 2-2 composite based array have been introduced. The highly performed PMN-PT, PIN-PMN-PT single crystals were introduced as key materials in ultrasonic transducers. Four different dice-and-fill methods were used to fabricated single crystal/epoxy 2-2 and 1-3 composites. The transducers based on single crystals and composites was fabricated with excellent characterizations. Single-element transducers using single crystals and composite has the bandwidth of 93.1% (for 2-2 composite based-), 94.6% (for 1-3 composite based-) and 70.9% (for single crystal based-). Two fabricated array have relative higher bandwidth of 128% and 127.7% for 1-3 composite based array and 2-2 composite based array, respectively.
