Abstract :
In this work, a 3D Ultrasound Palmprint recognition system based on a mechanically tilted linear probe has been proposed and experimentally evaluated. The probe is controlled by the ULA-OP research scanner. The system is programmed to scan and acquire, in about 3.4 seconds, the echoes from a 3D sector volume. This new method benefits from a simpler set-up, a shorter acquisition time, and a reduced mechanical and electromagnetic noise due to the use of a 3D probe instead of a complex CNC pantograph.
