Abstract
It is generally believed that wireless communication is not suitable for certain critical applications of smart grid in terms of latency and reliability. In this paper, it is intended to illustrate, through analysis, that this statement is not generally true and the ultimate appropriateness of wireless communication is dependent on specific design parameters of the communication system for the application involved.
