Abstract :
Voltage disturbances, especially voltage sag, may cause considerable losses and problems in electrical devices. Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a compensation series device which can avoid load voltage from grid disturbances. This paper proposes a new DVR structure based on three-phase to single- phase AC/AC matrix converter. Due to removal of DC link, this converter does not have voltage limitations of conventional DVRs and its output voltage has better output voltage quality. Simulation results demonstrate advantage of the proposed converter to the conventional DVRs.
