Abstract :
Voltage profile and loss indexes have been improved as two important efficiency indexes in providing low-cost and high-quality electricity for the subscribers through different approaches like reconfiguration, using distributed generation sources and capacitor placement. As these approaches are implemented according to the calculations done when planning and designing the network, the network falls off the desired and optimum performance due to the overload and the changes during the day. On the other hand, considering the increasing importance of the electricity economy and the movement from traditional distributed networks to smart distributed networks, one is expected to reach the optimum amounts for the indexes. This paper tends to study the way to improve loss and voltage profile indexes as two important implementation indexes with smart facilities. For this, the distributed generation sources and capacitor banks are used in a mixed way and the optimal allocation of the facilities is suggested with the use of the genetic algorithm simultaneously. The loss and voltage profile index for the sample standard IEEE distribution networks is calculated to be 33bus in a situation with no facilities and with power injection facilities and finally with smart power injection facilities and considering the 24-hour load pattern. The results show improvements in the indexes compared to the past. Additionally, to compare the answers, three ways were used namely genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and harmony search algorithm. When comparing the algorithms for the optimized answers of the objective function, the genetic algorithm provided a better optimized answer.
