The paper presents the results of mathematical modeling of a strong electric field (EF) in a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), which conductivity is a nonlinear function of the field strength. The analysis of changes in the gain coefficients of EF and total current density increase near water micro-trees, occurring on separate conductive micro-inclusions.
